AccuRadio is pleased to announce that our service can now be enjoyed on your Amazon Alexa, Echo and Echo Dot devices! For a list of compatible speakers, or help with Alexa device troubleshooting, please visit Amazon Alexa Support.
At the moment, our Alexa skill is only accessible to listeners in North America. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Getting started: 1-2-3
1. Enable AccuRadio's Alexa skill
Open the Amazon Alexa mobile app. Select "Menu" from the upper left corner and "Skills" from the drop-down menu.
Type AccuRadio into the search bar. Select AccuRadio from the search results.
Click on the "Enable" button.
2. Link Alexa to your AccuRadio account
Once you've selected "Enable", you'll be redirected to a login page. Proceed to enter your AccuRadio login information. (If you haven't registered with us, learn how to create an account. All AccuRadio accounts are 100% Free!)
At this time, Alexa cannot support logging in through Facebook. This is a matter which needs to be resolved between Facebook and Amazon. Unfortunately, AccuRadio accounts which are registered with Facebook will not be able to connect to the skill, because Facebook logins are handled directly by Facebook.
When you've logged in, the Alexa app will report that it has been successfully linked to your AccuRadio account. Now you can listen to AccuRadio via Alexa!
3. Enable AccuRadio as your default music service
You can enable AccuRadio as your default music service, so anytime you ask Alexa to play music it will access the AccuRadio skill automatically. Here's how to do it:
- Open the Amazon Alexa mobile app.
- Select Settings, then Music & Media.
- Choose Default Music Services.
- Under Default Music Library, tap the pull-down and choose AccuRadio. Your AccuRadio account is now linked to Alexa. You can access the same personalized channels that are available on our website or mobile apps, such as your Five-Star Radio channel.
Commands
Music commands
To open the AccuRadio skill and browse for a channel, begin with the words:
"Alexa, open AccuRadio"
The app will then ask you to choose what kind of music you'd like to hear.
You can say the name of a channel, such as "Lighter Sunny Hits Mix" or "Beautiful Music."
You can also search for channels by saying a genre or keyword, such as "classical" or "blues." Alexa will search for channels and list them, similar to how our search function looks up channels on our website. When you hear the name of the channel you want, say the name of that channel to start listening to it.
To quickly launch a channel or have our app automatically select a channel from a particular genre, say:
"Alexa, play [name of channel or genre] from AccuRadio"
For example:
"Alexa, play HitKast from AccuRadio"
"Alexa, play Five-Star from AccuRadio"
or
"Alexa, play Country from AccuRadio"
"Alexa, play R&B from AccuRadio"
You can ask Alexa for any of the channels, genres or keywords on our service. If your request matches multiple channels, the app may list them so that you can select the one you want.
Other app commands
When music is playing, you can use action/control commands by saying:
Alexa...
"Pause"
"Skip"
"Volume up" / "Volume down"
"Stop"
Thank you for listening to AccuRadio on your Alexa device!
